Finding Love

Love comes in many forms.

I love my husband deeply and passionately.

I love my son too, but in a slightly different way.

I also love my cat. She’s wonderful. 

What do all these forms of love have in common?

They make me feel good.

They make me want to care about someone other than myself.

More and more I am convinced that the feeling of connectedness we all crave and desire, is best fulfilled by loving other people.

Feeling love for others is its own reward whether they appreciate or reciprocate my feelings or not. 

This is what it is to love unconditionally.

So when you love, whoever you love, get your ego out of the way and love for the sake of loving.

Coming Down with a Case of the Stupids

It happens to us all.

No one is immune.

You can be the smartest person in the world and still act and think like an idiot at times.

I blame it on the brain.

It’s a big mass of ooey gooey stuff that is susceptible to chemicals ingested in the form of food, drinks and yes, drugs. 

Certain chemicals make us drowsy. Others make us antsy.

Some make us stupid.

So the next time you are acting all “holier than thou” because someone you don’t like was acting stupid, remember.  

There but for fortune, or the wrong bit of food go you or I and ... have a little compassion. 

Humans are a lot like chickens

I own 4 chickens.  

I’ve learned a couple of things from them about being human.

1st – humans are flocky birds. This is why my son must be in the room with us at all times and why he will come running to find us when he is scared.

How to win an argument

According to Business Insider, the way to win an argument is to let the other person tell you how they would solve the problem instead.

Don’t try to convince them your way is better.

Focus on how to actually solve the problem, not who is right.

Birthdays!

It’s my hubby’s birthday today.

We were born on the same day in different months so it’s easy to remember.

Anyway, he’s one year older – and so am I and so is our son.
