In order to make it through life without supernatural assistance, you need to have a good sense of humor.
The most obvious way my lack of religious upbringing shows is how I deal with mundane things, like sneezes.
I don’t have any bad religious language habits I have to get rid of.
For instance, we never said bless you in my family.
My dad always said, “don’t do that!” with a horrified look on his face when we sneezed.
As if we could help it!
Albert Camus was right. The human condition is absurd.
Enjoy the experience of being human.
And laugh at the absurdity of it all.
