I am a Power of Attraction Scrooge

Why rejecting the law of attraction and the magic of positive thinking is a positive thing to do. And not at all scroogy.

I admit it, I don’t like the power of attraction. I know a lot of people who do. The problem is that it promotes magical thinking. We need to find ways to motivate ourselves to work past our present difficulties. Pretending that we can just wish our problems away is counterproductive. We have to find a balance between hope for the future and the reality of our present. And most importantly, we have to be willing to do the hard work creating change requires. Knowing that no one or no thought will save me is how I and other Humanists motivate ourselves. What do you do to motivate yourself? How do you balance the need to think positively against the need to stay grounded?
