Halloween and Magical Thinking

Tomorrow is Halloween.

A time for ghouls and goblins to roam our streets asking for candy.

It’s fun.

I am a Humanist so I normally encourage people to engage in practical vs. magical thinking.

However, magical thinking has its place.

It helps us imagine things that might be or could be.

Magical thinking is the key to unlocking our imagination.

It needs to be encouraged.

It’s how we overcome our fears and find the courage to face the monsters in our lives.

We just need to remember that it’s magical and not practical.

And if we want to solve our problems, we have to do some practical thinking as well.
